Towards the end of last year we worked with mum to be Kelly to help her realise and create a gender neutral nursery that felt 'funky, fresh and a bit different!' Kelly wanted her nursery to stand the test of time, something to grow into. Take a look at the beautiful result of Kelly's hard work below...
Kelly used clean white walls as a base for the colour scheme adding colour and character with accessories. The Isak penguin wallpaper in silver is really subtle, goes with any colour scheme and catches the light beautifully. It's a lovely fresh and funky design and looks fabulous here as a feature wall. The Sebra white wall shelves provide handy storage without intruding on the room and that statement Kili cot/junior bed just looks so majestic next to the fireplace.
So, with the basics established the fun begins! Add style and personality with colour, textures and quirky accessories. The rainbow bright Cable and Cotton light string sit perfectly on top of the mantle piece where the retro camera smile print from Seventy Tree sits. A great introduction to art collecting!
The Sebra rug compliments the rich wooden floor boards and will provide a soft area to sit and play with toys. A string of bright felt balls draped over the high gloss white Sebra shelving provides a delicious contrast of textures.
The DIY bird boxes are handy little storage solutions and are a super way to add a personal touch to your decor. These boxes are painted white and decorated using 'Just A Touch' triangle wall stickers.
Kelly used wall stickers to add interest to a plain white cupboard combined with Chocolate Creative door knobs for the finishing touch. We think it really transforms what would otherwise have been a standard white wall cupboard. Inside Kelly uses our felt flocked hangers and adds alphabet wall stickers to label plain Ikea storage for a funky storage solution.
Practical yet stylish storage from Farg Form on the wall will always be useful and helps keep things off the floor and easy to access (great for those night nappy changes!).
